Blog Post #14- Location Research
Location Research
In my film there are not very many locations but there still are a lot. Mainly I am going to film at my house and school but there are a few scenes where they are not. For example the picnic scene and the hugging scene. In this blog I am going to be researching where I want to film those scenes and at what time of day to get the look I want for the shot.
To begin I am going to research where I want to have their picnic scene. I began by looking up the best places near me to have a picnic, I used this website to find out what would be a good place. I went through each the places and looked at the photos and decided either Hudson beach or Moon Lake Park would be the best. I want a more traditional picnic on grass so I am going to go with Moon Lake Park. For this shot I want to have a long two shot to show both Lacy and Steve and I want the mise-en-scene to be right so I am going to put them on a checker picnic blanket and get them a picnic basket and have food around them.
For my next scene it is a hugging scene that wraps around them in a 180 degree turn. I kind of want to have this scene at the beach as they're in a sunset. To research different types of beaches I looked up beaches near me. A beach that I found that was really nice was Sunset beach, it is a very far drive from the area I live in but its a very pretty beach and there isn't much nice beaches near me. To get the mise-en-scene right I will have to either put them in bathing suits or I can put them in clothes and have like rolled up jeans say if they had a night out in the town.
