 Conventions

       To go over what conventions I want in my film well start with what genre convention are. Genre Conventions are the specific elements, themes, and characteristics commonly found within a particular genre. They help audiences quickly identify the genre and set expectations for the narrative or style. Over time, these conventions become recognized standards for that genre. In different genres there are different conventions.

        In thriller movies genre conventions consist of suspense, intense moments plot twists, and danger and mystery. The main character in thriller movies are usually protagonists who find a way to outsmart their way out of a dangerous situation. Thriller movies can be fast paced so that way you are on the edge of your seat through the movie. Typically and horror movies there is a sense of danger that the main character finds themselves in.

        In romance movies, there is always a couple that falls in love, and they go through a bunch of obstacles together. Typical conventions in this genre consist of a memorable first encounter, conflicts that can test their relationship and sweet moments between them. these movies allow the audience to become invested in their love story by having focus on emotional depth and character development the romance movies always aim to create a sense of enchantment and hope. 

        Coming of age
movies are all about the journey of self discovery and growth from teenagers to adult years. Typical conventions are young protagonists facing challenges of growing up and finding their identity. films under this genre go through themes of friendship, first love and personal struggles. Challenges that the protagonist may go through serve as opportunities for growth in self discovery.

        In my movie some conventions that will be in there are suspense intense and danger from thriller movies. Then, from romance movies, conventions that I would use would be memorable first encounter and sweet moments between them. Lastly, from coming of age movies, conventions that use are young protagonist, facing challenges of growing up in the theme of first love.
