Filming #13

In this scene my main character had just set up the bear trap and is walking back to the bushes where she will be waiting for something to fall into her trap. I filmed this shot as a mid shot because I wanted my audience to be able to see Lacy walk behind the tree and hide. I dollied into a close up so that you could see her face peer around the tree. I did not add any lighting to the scene because I wanted to keep it dark outside. Luckily, I had lights outside, so you were able to see some of the shot but if it was pitch black outside, I would’ve added lights similar to what I had already had outside my house. I followed rule of thirds throughout the shot just like all the previous ones because I wanted to tell them similarly. At times I did notice the glare from one of the lights did get into the shot a lot, but there was nothing really that I could do about it.

For the next shot I had my actor walk from the Fenceline over to where the bear trap was so that she could fall into it and get stuck. When directing my actor on what to do I told her to walk, creepily, peering through the window, not looking where she was walking and gets stuck in the bear trap and fall. I think she did this very well because the shot ended up looking just how I imagined it would. I did end up using lighting in this scene. I used motivated lighting, meaning I added in extra lighting to mimic what was already there. This shot was had to add lighting to because I wanted my audience to be able to see the figure walking without also shining the light into my neighbors window. I would have go in in and outside of my house to adjust and see how the lighting looked while making sure its not shining in their window because if was late at night and I didn’t want to wake them with it. I continued to use rule of thirds through this shot.
