 Initial script    

    When writing my script I came across the issue where I did not give a last name for my characters. To resolve this issue the last name I gave Lacy is Edwards and the last name I gave to Steve is Miller. Initially I wrote my script out on paper with no format to get my ideas written down on paper then I began to type it out on this blog and format it to be a script. Previously in this class we practiced writing a script and our teacher gave us a good website for writing scripts. I used the website to help me format my script to try to make it look like a professional script. The website I used was screencraft.org, I did have to look up something’s on what words meant but besides that I based the format off my script how they did.

OPENING SCENE

FADE IN:

EXT: OUTSIDE LACYS HOUSE- DAY

A nice family home in a good neighbor hood. Sun shines from above onto the house. Meet Lacy a teen girl who is smart, reserved and awkward. She stands up straight while the camera dolly outs.

LACY(V.O.)

My name is Lacy Edwards and this is my story. 

INT: SCHOOL- DAWN

A stereotypical public school filled with kids all hanging out with their friends before they head to class. Light shining from above. Meet Steve, stereotypical school jock and class clown who is known by all. 

LACY(V.O.)

This all begins January 9th it was a school morning and I was going to class when the school jock, Steve, stopped me in the hallway. 

STEVE

Hey it’s Lacy right? You’re really pretty and I was wondering if I could get your number?

LACY(V.O.)

At this moment I froze. I had no clue what to say to him, I awkwardly told him yes. As he was walking away he yelled down the hallway that he’ll text me. 

EXT: PARK- DAY

Having a picnic in the park where he asks Lacy to be his girlfriend. Motivated lighting replicating the sun.

LACY(V.O.)

After this occurrence we started to get to know each other when he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes because he was such a nice guy, little did I know…

EXT: HUGGING ROTATION- DAY

A bunch of different shots of Lacy’s and Steve’s relationship.

LACY(V.O.)

During our relationship it was nice, we went on dates and did a bunch of things together —

INT: LACY’S HOUSE- DAY

A nice tidy house in a good neighborhood. Lacy kicks Steve out of the house after the breakup.

LACY(CONT’D)

 till he started to become controlling. I just couldn’t handle it anymore and I broke up with him.

INT: LACYS BEDROOM

Lacys childhood snow globe begins going off as she’s sleeping. 

LACY(V.O.)

After our breakup things started getting weird. I heard weird noises outside at night. When I tried to tell someone they just brushed it off and said i was paranoid.

INT: SCHOOL- DAWN

Lacy goes to school with bags under her eyes in comfy pajama like clothes looking tired.

LACY(CONT’D)

 Most nights these noises would keep me up and I would go to school sleep deprived with bags under my eyes.

INT: LACYS LIVING ROOM

Meet Bella, Lacys best friend. Bella is an outgoing girl who is afraid of everything and she is very anxious. Bella and Lacy talk about what’s been going on in their life nice they have lest seen each other. 

LACY(CONT’D)

On the bright side I hung out with my best friend Bella, she came over to my house and stayed the night. We were catching up on my house downstairs when we heard a branch snapping from outside near the window. I went to investigate but I didn’t see anything out there. Bella now believes me when I say I hear noises outside and they keep me up.

INT: LACYS FRONT DOOR

Neighbor comes over to complain about noises at night. Mom answers the door and just brushes off what the neighbor says.

LACY(CONT’D) 

A few days later the neighbor came over to our house and asked if we were doing anything outside at night because they kept hearing noises outside like something was making noise in the bushes. My parents just believe it an animal making all the noises. 

INT: LACYS LIVING ROOM

Lacy gets a phone call from an unknown number while sitting on her couch in the living room watching TV.

LACY(CONT’D)

The noises still continue for weeks but then I start getting calls in the middle of the night from a “no caller id” number. I answer one of them and it was just heavy breathing and nothing else.

EXT: SIDE OF LACYS HOUSE

Lacy sets up a trap to try to catch the animal that is making noise at night she catches something she was not expecting.

LACY(CONT’D)

I wanted to figure out what the noise was so I set up a trap. I decided to dig a hole in the yard where I heard the branch snap at in hopes the animal thing that’s been making the noises will stop. I waited behind a tree until the animal fell into my trap. After a few hours something did fall into my trap. It wasn’t a little animal though, It was a person.
