Blog Post #42- Editing #3 & #4

Editing #3

For my next editing blog I edited together all of the last shots in my film. I had a lot of shots for this scene but I couldn’t use most of them because it was an 18 second scene. From all of the shots I had they totaled to around a minute and thirty seconds. I wasn’t able to use all of my shots that I took because of this time limit.

I was only able to put in 4 shots into this scene because that is what made sense. I added in my voiceover for sound. It is non diegetic but synchronous because I wanted what my actor was saying in my voiceover to go with what was on screen. There was an issue with my voiceover because when we were recording it, my family was talking downstairs. We were upstairs recording the voiceover so there is some muffled noise in the back of the voice over but I think it adds to the creepy effect. In all I am not going to re-record the voiceover.
Editing #4

In this editing sequence is two different shots of the neighbor coming over and complaining. I struggled on putting the scenes together because my shots that I took were not long enough and my mother looked at the camera at one part. I had to work with what I had those so I made a shot go longer by making the speed less. I had to use the clip where my mom looked at the camera but in all, I don’t think that it was a bad shot. The audio is still non-diagenetic in synchronous. When editing it, I didn’t add any transitions, and just pieced it together.
